More Falls – Kauai, Day 12 – Kalalau Trail, Napali Coastline
Amazing. I don’t really know what else to say. I am humbled by the terrain here. After a rigorous four mile hike/climb through slippery terrain and stream crossings in we made it to yet another set of falls – the Hanakapiai Falls of Kauai. It is completely worth whatever discomforts we have run into along the way.
It seems like this is how it can often be in life…..that along the way towards our dreams and goals we may hit stumbling blocks (or in this case, actually stumble over) and experience discomfort but they pale in comparison to the excitement of the adventure and journey and sometimes, even, a beautiful discovery at the end of a trail. I am reminded that life wasn’t designed to be easy all the time – that the challenges and discomfort can all be a part of the adventure. Maybe if we accept that there will be hardships at times and begin to see them as part of a much larger picture, we can learn to experience our lives with much more appetite and zest for the great adventure of it all…
